Hello, I’m Jo!
I’m a nature-inspired artist and painting guide based in Surrey, UK. I create calming, expressive artwork that celebrates the beauty of the natural world — from flowers and birds to animals and landscapes. My paintings invite you to pause, reconnect with nature, and bring a sense of peace into your home.
I especially enjoy painting landscapes and animal portraits, including birds, capturing not just their appearance but the atmosphere and life around them. Using watercolour and other water-soluble media, I aim to create each piece that feels joyful and restorative.
My Work as an Artist
I create:
- Original paintings — landscapes, animal portraits, and nature studies inspired by local surroundings
- Fine art prints — archival reproductions of my most loved works, perfect for home or office spaces
- Commissions — personal paintings, custom animal or bird portraits, and meaningful nature pieces

My Work as a Teacher
Alongside my own studio practice, I share my love of painting through:
- Skillshare classes — relaxed, beginner-friendly lessons in watercolour and mixed media
- YouTube tutorials & vlogs — demos, behind-the-scenes painting, and creative encouragement
- Free resources — helping others explore painting without pressure and build confidence in their creativity
Teaching is a natural extension of my practice — I love helping others notice the small joys of nature and enjoy the process of painting.
A Little More About Me
I live near the Hogsmill River and often sketch outdoors in local nature reserves.
When I’m not painting, I’m usually reading, walking in the woods, taking photos or tending to my sketchbook.
